When Jay Leslie was 14 years old he was a regular performer on The Bozo The Clown Show. He and Bozo were the main attraction at grand openings for malls and shopping centers all across the east coast.

Jay first started performing school shows along with Joe Negri, also known as Handyman Negri of the Mr. Rogers show. He was also introduced to trade shows by Chef Brocket who was another player appearing on Mr. Rogers. Along the same time Jay went to the university Of Pittsburgh where he earned 80 credits in psychology with 30 in developmental psychology but eventually graduated with a masters in theater.

After that Jay auditioned for a major amusement park when he performed 6 shows a day, 6 days a week. Jay moved to California and proceeded to build original illusions and operate a 75 year old company that sells magicians supplies along with giving lessons to people entering contests.

The school shows Jay presents today can be used for an awards assembly or to promote a healthy lifestyle. His copywritten assembly show, with a message, can be scheduled any time of the year. It teaches lower and upper grade students why they should not take drugs, why they should be tolerant of others and what they can do now, to decide on a path of success.

When you book Jay Leslie for a family fund-raiser you will automatically received day time assembly program(s) (within 100 miles of HB) that promote good choices, with a moment to announce the upcoming fund-raiser. (Alternatively, Jay can visit class rooms for approximately two minutes each, and announce the upcoming family night.)
Fund raisers are split 50/50 (Flat rate shows for fairs and family nights are on another page LINK ). For fund-raisers Jay provides all the flyers, (English) to promote the event along with tickets & posters. We may schedule one or two shows for the actual family night evening. Each show lasts approximately 73 minutes without an intermission. Ticket prices are $6 to $10 dollars, depending on the success of your past events.

This program is a one man show and what makes Jay's shows so special is his unique talent and original variety. There are approximately a dozen routines that consist of comedy-magic, audience participation and skillful sleight of hand (classical) performances. If you don't think a one man show can be better then larger productions, we would like to point out that Jay Leslie has won first place in every style of performance, in every magician contest he has ever entered in addition to being voted in the top ten percent of magicians worldwide by his peers at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. He is also a consultant for various television productions both appearing in front as well as behind the camera. Please look at a few letters of recommendations and you will see that Jay's shows appeal to all ages and are appropriate for your elementary school.

We can't stress enough that you shouldn't hire a show "by the pound" but to please consider how many awards Jay has won and the fact that he lectures other magicians along with having 10 DVDs that teach the art of performance.

Jay is availible to speak at your monthly meeting (within 70 miles of HB) or you can call for more information and/or schedule a show . Jay will travel as far as San Lois Obispo all the way to the border and inland as far as Barstow, for the actuall evening performance.

If you opt for the 50/50 split, there is no money out of your pocket and we will perform no matter how many people attend. Because of the nature of our originality no photographs or recording may be allowed. That's basically it. Jay has been presenting fund raising shows for 20 years so we know this will work.
